Three action series films starring actor Dong-seok Ma will be released to the audience in the first half of the year.
Distributors Avio Entertainment and Plus M Entertainment announced on the 18th that “‘Criminal City 3’ will be released around May or June.”
The third episode of ‘Crime City’ depicts the operation of monster detective Ma Seok-do (Ma Dong-seok), who went to the Seoul Metropolitan Crime Investigation Unit, to clear up Joo Seong-cheol (Lee Jun-hyuk) and Ricky (Aoki Munetaka), who are behind a new drug crime case. Directed by Lee Sang-yong, who directed the second film.
The ‘Crime City’ series is highly popular with the audience for its exhilarating confrontation with the villains, including Ma Dong-seok, Yoon Kye-sang, Son Seok-gu, and Lee Jun-hyeok in the third episode.
‘Criminal City’, which debuted in 2017, recorded the third largest cumulative audience of 6.88 million among Korean films that are not rated for youth viewing.
The two films released last year mobilized 12.6 million people amid the COVID-19 pandemic and joined the ranks of ’10 million films’.
