macOS Ventura 13.5 Update: Issues with Accessing and Controlling Location Permissions for Apple and Third-Party Apps

2023-08-11 02:45:42

Source: MacRumors After installing the macOS Ventura 13.5 update announced by Apple on the 24th of last month, foreign media reported on the 10th (local time) that there are reports of problems accessing and controlling location permissions for Apple and third-party apps. . Reportedly, the app will no longer be listed in System Settings > Privacy & Security > Location Services, and users will not be able to turn Location Services on or off for the app. Currently, it is not possible to determine which apps can access location information. Also, if a newly installed app attempts to request location services, there is no option to enable location services for that app, which also limits the functionality of some apps that Mac users may want to access. I have never had this location service issue with previous macOS Ventura 13.4 updates or macOS Sonoma. Apple has not yet issued an official stance on the issue, but it is expected to be fixed in a hotfix soon.
