Macron called the Prime Minister of Iraq… and will he visit Lebanon?

An MTV correspondent in Paris reported that President Emmanuel Macron addressed the issue of the ongoing arrangements for holding the Baghdad conference in its second edition, which is expected to be held in Amman this month, during a phone call he had with Iraqi Prime Minister Muhammad Shia’ al-Sudani.
The two officials discussed the situation in the region, and expressed their concern about the high escalation and tensions in it.
Macron stated that Iraq can count on France’s support in facing threats and in light of attempts to undermine the sovereignty and stability of Iraq, and they stopped at the issue of combating terrorism.
Macron invited the Sudanese to visit France at the beginning of next year.
Macron and Al-Sudani agreed to continue coordinating with Jordan in order to prepare for the Baghdad 2 conference in Amman, which will bring together senior officials in the region and the French president before the end of the year.
Informed sources had indicated that the conference would be held in Amman on the 20th of this month, and did not rule out that Macron would then make a lightning visit to Lebanon to meet with the French forces operating within UNIFIL forces.
It is noteworthy that the presidents of France, according to tradition, visit their military forces outside the country during the festive period, and Macron was expected to make this visit last year, but it was postponed due to his infection with Corona.
