Madbouly: The “Fustat Gardens” development project achieves a unique tourism experience for visitors and tourists

Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Prime Minister, inspected this morning the implementation of the “Fustat Gardens” development project, accompanied by Major General Khaled Abdel-Al, Governor of Cairo, Eng. Khaled Seddik, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Urban Development Fund, and project consultants.

The Prime Minister stressed that the development of the “Fustat Gardens” is one of the most important projects for the development of historical and archaeological areas implemented by the state, as it provides an outlet in the heart of the capital, which includes heritage, entertainment and cultural areas that achieve a unique tourist experience for visitors and tourists.

During the tour, the Prime Minister directed the acceleration of agricultural work in the area of ​​​​the “Fustat Gardens” development project, especially since this timing is the most suitable for agriculture. He also discussed with those responsible for the project some aspects of the infrastructure to complete the project’s cultivations.

The Prime Minister started the tour, listening to a detailed explanation from Major General Mahmoud Nassar, head of the Central Agency for Reconstruction, which dealt with the general position of the “Fustat Gardens” development project, the current completion rates for each component, the remaining works in it, and the timetable scheduled for its completion. The project witnesses the implementation of the investment zone, the cultural zone, the areas of adventure, heritage gardens, hills, excavations, the Kasbah, the markets, the club, Ain al-Hayat Lake, the riverbed, the historical, contemporary and garden gates, and the Egyptian Cairo Club.

The Prime Minister’s tour included the “cultural area”, which is one of the 8 main areas included in the project, which is being built on the waterway linking the square of Amr Ibn Al-Aas Mosque and Ain Al-Hayat Lake.

Eng. Khaled Siddiq confirmed that the “cultural area” starts from the main gate of the park on Salah Salem Street, to the back entrance of the Museum of Civilizations. Therefore, the connecting axis of the museum was called the cultural axis, and the cultural area consists of a group of gardens that represent different eras, along with a group One of the places that will allow the provision of many cultural, recreational and other activities, as well as services for visitors to the park, and the cultural area ends with the Egyptian Women’s Lake, which includes an amphitheater, as well as a group of sculptural artworks that record the role of Egyptian women in building civilization through different ages.

The Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Urban Development Fund addressed the executive position of the adventure area, within the components of the cultural area, and includes a group of green terraces. He also touched on the executive position of the investment area, which is adjacent to the cultural area, and includes an arena for celebrations, restaurants and cafeterias, overlooking the Ain Al-Hayat Lake. To the executive position of the river, which extends from Ain Al-Hayat Lake and is connected to the group of green hills to the square of the Amr Ibn Al-Aas Mosque, which is witnessing progress in the implementation of its works, as the entire path of the river has been lined, and the rest of the works are being completed in preparation for pumping water into it.

Madbouly and his entourage also visited the hills area, and got acquainted with the implementation works of this area within the components of the project. Engineer Khaled Siddiq indicated that the area is witnessing the implementation of 3 main hills, each hill rising to approximately 70 meters, with the work of terraces for these hills, to serve as paths to climb to their summit. , so that this area becomes one of Cairo’s tourist attractions, as it overlooks the Giza pyramids, the Muhammad Ali Mosque, the Mokattam Mountain, the Sultan Hassan Mosque, and other landmarks that characterize the city of Cairo.

He added that the hills area is currently witnessing the stage of agriculture and its transformation into green areas, and the tops of these hills will be ready to implement many activities, such as restaurants and cafes in which events that will take place on the hills such as weddings, or any other festive activities, will also be possible. , and other means of transportation intended for ascending to the tops of hills and moving from one hill to another, with the presence of pedestrian paths and exercise, and at the same time there will be a group of main bridges that cross the two banks of the river and that connect the group of hills with each other, which is the main source of movement for the project, as well as Playgrounds for children, and places for recreational activities that take place on the slopes of these hills, and part of the hills will overlook the river, and a theater will be built on it, and a group of artistic activities will be held in it.

The Prime Minister also visited the square of the Amr Ibn Al-Aas Mosque, and learned about the development work that is taking place, and it includes the square and its appurtenances, including the entrance to the square from the side of the mosque, the gates, the green areas, the main fountain, the main staircase, the Fustat market, agricultural basins, palm trees, and terraces. , and the memorial.

Major General Mahmoud Nassar explained that the remaining works in the square of the Amr Ibn Al-Aas Mosque include the completion of the date palm groups that are being cultivated, lighting units and sound systems in the outer square of the mosque, explaining that the development includes the market area, which is one of the main areas and landmarks, and the entrance to it is from the square of the mosque. Amr Ibn Al-Aas, and its aim is to revive the idea of ​​craft markets, which existed in the Fustat area in the past, such as the market for glass, pottery, leather, and other traditional crafts that were characteristic of historic Cairo and the Fustat area.

The Prime Minister also entered the Mosque of Amr Ibn Al-Aas to inspect the restoration work and raise the efficiency, which the “Arab Contractors” company has completed, where he listened to an explanation from Eng. In the mosque, and internal broadcasts, in preparation for furnishing the mosque, in preparation for the holy month of Ramadan, and “Madbouly” toured the mosque, praising the restoration work that was carried out with the highest efficiency.
