The residence of the Clock organized a small party for the birthday of Madeleine Nibourel, born Bonnamy. She was surrounded by her son Alain, the director of the residence, and Auria Bourouba, municipal councilor.

Born on June 29, 1922 in Buthiers (Haute-Saône), Madeleine lived in Morocco until the age of 23, being educated at the Lycée français de Casablanca. Having passed the entrance exam to Enseps (Normal School of Physical Education and Sports), she will become a PE teacher. After a first position at the Normal School of Moulins, she was appointed to the Normal School for Girls of Auxerre.

She will marry Roger Nibourel, himself a PE teacher at the normal boys’ school in Auxerre. From their union, will be born two boys Alain and Christian. During her professional career, she initiated, trained and sensitized many teachers in the department of Yonne both on a purely sporting and educational level.

She was named knight and then officer of the Academic Palms and received the gold medal for Youth and Sports, crowning her fine professional career.

She was also a great mom. Over the years, she pampered and taught her five grandchildren to swim and got to know, with great pleasure, her two great-grandsons.

Welcomed for a year at the Residence de l’Horloge, Madeleine likes its tranquility and walking in the garden.
