Otto Waalkes (73) was honored as the best actor in the movie “Catweazle”. Daniel Brühl (43) received the jury’s special prize for his directorial debut “Next door”. The film, shot in Berlin, is an enigmatic satire regarding gentrification and lies, resentment and envy, it said. The Danish actor Mads Mikkelsen (56) was awarded the trophy for best international actor for his role in the movie “The Intoxication”.
Best actress cinema was the Swiss Luna Wedler (22), who convinced the audience in the drama “Je suis Karl”. The Hamburg-born actor Jannik Schümann (29) won a Jupiter for the third time in a row, this time in the Best Actor TV & Streaming category for his role as Emperor Franz Joseph I in “Sisi”.
