Venezuelan ruler Nicolás Maduro approved this Wednesday the creation of the Ministry of People’s Power for Older Adults.
“With the constitutional power that I have as head of government, of state and president, I order the creation of the Ministry of Popular Power for Senior Citizens, for grandparents, which will take the leadership of all the vertices of the Great Mission of Grandfathers and Grandmothers of the Homeland”said Maduro, from the Teresa Carreño Theater, reported Venezolana de Televisión.
“We must always organize ourselves better and the Great Mission for grandparents and senior citizens requires higher levels”he explained.
He reported that more than two million senior citizens have signed up for the Great Mission of Grandfathers and Grandmothers of the Nation and that 12 thousand grandparents’ circles have been established so far.The goal is to establish 30 thousand in June (one month before the presidential elections).
They will also offer More than 300 social programs in the tourism sector through the Carnet de la Patria to serve this sector of the population, according to the Minister of People’s Power for Tourism, Ali Padrón,
