The Israeli company managed to raise $55 million in a round of financing to produce its innovative device.

Magenta Medical was founded in 2012 by Yosi Tuva and Ehud Schwammenthal, and its current CEO is David Israeli. Since it began, it has obtained financing of approximately 100 million dollars.

His latest project is the development of an axial flow pump that is the smallest in the world. The device is integrated over a catheter and works as a support for the mechanical circulation of the ventricle.

This technology could be used for the treatment of emergency patients, who came to the hospital with heart failure or who are at high cardiac risk due to a pre-existing condition. It also helps regulate blood pressure.

But the truth is that, after various tests, it was found that this pump can be useful when it comes to high-risk interventions with catheterizations. The device can even “stand in” for heart function until the heart recovers after surgery.

In its last round of financing, Magenta Medical managed to raise 55 million dollars for the development of this new project. The investment is led by the OrbiMed Advisors group, but Pitingo VC, Alive and New Enterprise Associates (NEA) also participated.
