MagSafe Battery Pack charges faster to 7.5W after firmware update version 2.7.b.0.

yesterday Apple has released firmware version 2.7.b.0 for MagSafe Battery Pack owners to update. This will enable faster charging to 7.5W from 5W.

The MagSafe Battery Pack is an accessory that functions much like a Power Bank, but charges wirelessly by attaching it to the back of any MagSafe-compatible iPhone 12 or later for easy suction.

Previously, the MagSafe Battery Pack only released 5W, and after users have automatically updated the firmware via OTA when the MagSafe Battery Pack is attached to an iPhone with MagSafe, it’s possible. It will be able to charge the iPhone at 7.5W, instead of being limited to 5W.

Users can check the version by going to Settings > General > About > ‌MagSafe Battery Pack‌. If it’s version 2.7.b.0, it can be charged at 7.5W.

The MagSafe Battery Pack‌ has been released and will be available in July 2021. And now it is available in Thailand at a price of 3,690 baht.
