Women’s budget increased – Minister Raab takes important steps in women’s policy

Vienna (OTS) “The women’s budget for 2024 is an important step that many still have to follow. In particular, the new challenges that immigrants pose with regard to women’s self-determination must be increasingly addressed in the future,” said the state party chairman of the Vienna People’s Party, City Councilor Karl Mahrer, welcoming the 2024 women’s budget presented today by Women’s Minister Susanne Raab.

A large part of the budget, which has been increased to 33.6 million euros, will go towards protection against violence. The range of violence protection centers and advice centers will be expanded and each district will have its own advice center for women and girls. “It is important for women and girls who need support and help to have a short route to advice,” emphasizes the women’s spokesperson for the Vienna People’s Party, local councilor Sabine Keri. “Minister Susanne Raab knows how broad the field of women’s policy is and now this breadth is also reflected in the budget.”

“The increased budget and the measures presented today prove that the People’s Party is a guarantee that protection against violence is not just an empty phrase, but is taken seriously,” concluded Mahrer.
