Mail delivery: in the Netherlands, the PostNL will soon no longer leave a transit advice note for a missed parcel

From July 1, PostNL will no longer leave a delivery notice in the Netherlands if a courier finds the door closed and cannot drop off a parcel. In Belgium, the postal company will continue to do so for the time being, specifies a spokesperson.

Dutch people who are not at home at the time of delivery will soon receive an email or notification directly via the Dutch company’s app. By doing so, the company claims to be able to save 70,000 kilos of paper per year and also hopes to save time. In approximately 9% of cases, the recipient is not at home at the time of delivery.
