Head of the Cianjur Regency Public Works and Spatial Planning (PUTR) Service, Eri Rihandiar, admitted that he had coordinated with the West Java Provincial Government to follow up on the condition of damage to the road to the southern region. Especially on the main route which has provincial status on the Cibeber-Sukanagara road section.
“For the south, yesterday we sent a letter to the province because the road from Cibeber to Sukanagara was badly damaged,” said Eri, Sunday (24/3).
The letter from the Cianjur Regency PUTR Service received a positive response from
West Java Provincial Government. According to Eri, the West Java Provincial Government is committed to focusing more on handling provincial roads in districts and cities in West Java.
“So the coordination that we carried out was continuous. Two weeks ago we wrote a letter, then there was a commitment like that,” he said.
However, there are consequences to this program policy. The reason is,
the financial assistance budget from the West Java Provincial Government to the regions will be reduced.

“Financial assistance to districts will be reduced, but it is the province’s authority
“will be improved, so that there will be accelerated improvements to provincial road infrastructure in the regions,” stressed Eri.
Previously, he said that facing the homecoming flow for Idul Fitri 1445 Hijriah, the PUTR Service would immediately repair alternative roads. However, repairs are carried out in certain spots or at points that have suffered serious damage. “The point is maintenance,” he added.
So far there are only two alternative homecoming routes planned
repaired. These two routes are often the choice for travelers to avoid traffic jams on protocol routes.
“First, the Cikalongkulon-Sukaresmi route which will be an alternative route for travelers in the northern region. Then the KH Saleh route or from Kandang Sapi to Tungturunan in Sukaluyu District. This will be used for travelers from Bandung or who are heading to Bandung,” he explained.
Eri emphasized that the results of evaluations every time during the Eid homecoming season show that these two points are the favorite alternative route for homecoming travelers. In its implementation, the PUTR Service will collaborate with the Department
Transportation and Cianjur Police Traffic Unit.
