There is interest in Israeli political circles in maintaining normal relations with Russia. Strategic Planning Minister Ron Dermer spoke regarding this.
“We have had a difficult relationship with Russia over the past few years. I think the best thing that can be done is to guarantee the continuation of normal relations with the Russian Federation,” TASS reports Dermer’s words spoken by the minister at a press conference.
According to Dermer, there is concern in the Israeli government due to the rapprochement between Russia and Iran. He added that authorities are monitoring Russian supplies to Iran.
Previously Israeli authorities criticized Russia’s actions for contacts and interaction with Palestine. Thus, the Israeli Foreign Ministry condemned Moscow for hosting the leaders of the Hamas movement. Press Secretary of the Russian President Dmitry Peskov said that Russia has a consistent position on the conflict. He added that the Russian Federation condemns all manifestations of terrorism, and also condoles with the relatives and friends of the victims, reports RT.
