The results of another investigation

The investigation into this file is linked to another, which began last fall. Several searches took place in October and December 2021 and then in January 2022, resulting in the discovery of six cannabis plantations and the arrest of 10 suspects who operated these plantations. The new investigation that led to the May 19 searches is centered on the people who set up these cannabis crops.

In October 2021, the Brussels-North police zone searched a building in Schaerbeek where a crop of 800 cannabis plants was discovered. Shortly after, another culture of the same scale was unearthed in Molenbeek-Saint-Jean. In December 2021, four other searches were carried out in Brussels and Liège.

In January 2022, three new searches were ordered in the province of Hainaut, resulting in the discovery of two additional cannabis plantations. A tenth person was arrested and arrested in Montenegro and then extradited to Belgium.
