This Monday evening, around 5:15 p.m., a Transports Albert semi-trailer truck was traveling on the N589, linking Baileux to Rièzes, when for reasons still unknown, in the middle of a straight line, the driver veered onto the shoulder. Despite his attempts to recover his truck, it rolled over the entire width of the road and dumped its 30 tonnes of gravel on the roadway.
The driver was taken care of by the emergency services of the Hainaut-East area of Chimay and was taken to the Fagnes Health Center in Chimay. The Andrieu company has been tasked with clearing the road and a crane will straighten the truck. Police services hope to reopen the road by Tuesday morning.
