She said data from a mobile phone flight radar app showed the plane was flying at an altitude of 31,000 feet and then dived to 24,000 feet within seconds after encountering a technical problem.
At the time of the accident, her seat belt was not fastened because the seat belt reminder was turned off. As the plane dived, her body left her seat and “floated” in the air.
Ms Halimah said: “After the dive, the plane kept flying very unevenly, and after about 10 minutes, the plane dived again, but the second dive was not as hard as the first.”
She said many passengers panicked, screamed and some cried as the plane dived, and she thought it was time to die.
Fortunately, the plane quickly resumed normal flight, turned around midway, and returned to Kuala Lumpur International Airport. After Halimah took a connecting flight and arrived at Tawau at 9:50 pm.
