According to Selangor Fire and Rescue Department assistant director of operations Ashrul Riezal Asbar, the agency received an urgent distress call at 3.35 p.m. local time. A specialized team deployed immediately from the Sabak Bernam fire station to the Grand Sabak Hotel water gate site. Upon arrival, rescue personnel discovered the victim unresponsive, lying directly on the sluice gate.
Investigators determined that the worker’s headscarf had become caught in the gate roller, pulling her into the operational machinery. Health Ministry personnel pronounced the worker dead at the scene, and her remains were subsequently transferred to the police for further investigation.
