The 65th year of the creation of the Guinean army was celebrated this Wednesday, November 1, 2023, in Kankan with the participation of civil and military authorities as well as the population.
The mobilization took place within the confines of the camp which houses the 3rd military region of Guinea. This celebration of the historic date of November 1 was marked by the inauguration of the Kankan Infantry Training Center.
On this occasion, the commander of the third military region of Kankan welcomed the reforms initiated by the president of the transition, Colonel Mamady Doumbouya. “I thank the good Lord who allowed us to be here today for the inauguration of this center. I also thank the president of the transition. My thanks go to the regional, prefectural and municipal authorities for the massive mobilization on this memorable day. Since coming to power on September 5, 2021, the president has always said that he will not be a candidate, nor will a member of his government be a candidate as well. He didn’t come to be a candidate, if he had come to campaign, it wouldn’t be like this. Life is a matter of history what you do is what will be told one day. It is in this center that I was trained in 1993, man must agree to make history and not to accompany history. I say once again, this is not a campaign,” declared Colonel Mamady Condé.
