A man was arrested on Saturday following having assaulted and kidnapped a young woman in Seraing, we learned on Sunday from the Liège public prosecutor’s office.
A Seresian born in 1998 met a young woman whom he brought home on Friday evening. After spending the night, she returned home at dawn on Saturday, also to Seraing.
When the young man got up, he noticed the disappearance of a sum of 1,500 euros that his guest stole from him. The suspect then went to the young woman’s home where he broke down the front door. Grabbing her by the hair, he then beat the victim and locked her in the trunk of his car. He also stole her cell phone.
As he left the scene, witnesses at the scene called the police. The police quickly found the vehicle, apprehended the individual and released the young woman.
Already well known to the judicial authorities, the Seresian was deprived of his liberty and referred to the Liège public prosecutor’s office on Sunday. An investigating judge was seized of the case.
