Man City worry-free against Brentford, Tottenham surprised by Southampton

Four matches were played on English lawns as part of the 24th Premier League matchday, including those of Manchester City and Tottenham. The Citizens won without difficulty at home to Brentford (2-0), thanks in particular to a penalty goal from Algerian international Riyad Mahrez, his third in his last two matches. Two games ahead of Liverpool, City temporarily take 12-point lead over Reds.

In the other games of the evening, Spurs were surprised by Southampton (2-3) and thought to equalize late on through Steven Bergwijn, but his goal was disallowed by VAR for an offside. Finally, in a prolific encounter, Aston Villa and Leeds had to share the points (3-3). A match illuminated by the talent of Philippe Coutinho, scorer and decisive double passer for the double of Jacob Ramsey.
