He added that a type 2 diabetic patient who received insulin for surgery can return to taking the tablets after consulting the treating physician after the wound heals and fully recovers.
He stressed that if the doctor is sure that the other doctor who decided to start insulin did not resume all the capabilities of the tablets and change the lifestyle, in this case the diabetic person can return to the tablets, but under the supervision of the treating physician.
He pointed out that early detection of type 2 diabetes reduces the chance of taking insulin, stressing the necessity of periodic blood sugar analysis for reassurance.
Dr. Alaa Naeem emphasized that insulin is considered the best medical treatment available for diabetes, adding that a type 1 diabetic has no treatment other than insulin.
He stressed the necessity of controlling the sugar percentage in the HbA1C analysis so that it is less than 7%.
