Professor and consultant nephrologist at Founder University, who is interested in health education, Dr. Saad Al-Shehaib, said that increasing phosphorus intake poses a health risk. It can have a negative effect on the kidneys and bones.

He explained during a tweet on his account on the “X” platform that harmful phosphorus is found mainly in soft drinks, then canned goods and egg yolks, and also in red meat.

Al-Shehaib pointed out that it is very important to eat healthy food to maintain kidney health, even in the absence of other health problems, warning that the presence of phosphorus in canned food is considered harmful to health.

He pointed out that fish contains phosphorus, but the presence of Omega-3 in fish, especially salmon, makes it beneficial for heart health, despite the presence of a not insignificant amount of phosphorus.
