For the past two weeks, the number of consultations for influenza, in city medicine and in hospitals, has been constantly increasing in Reunion. At this stage, the health impact remains limited and 64% of emergency visits concern people under 15 years old.
Very contagious, and often wrongly considered as benign, the seasonal flu causes hospitalizations and deaths every year in Reunion.
In this context, ARS La Réunion and Health Insurance recall the importance of strengthening hygiene measures to limit the transmission of the disease, protect yourself and those around you, especially the most vulnerable people.
The seasonal flu vaccination campaign continues until the end of September 2023. Also, fragile people (elderly people, people with certain chronic diseases, pregnant women, etc.) who are not yet vaccinated, are invited to do so. contact their doctor, midwife, nurse or volunteer pharmacist without delay.
