Manchester City renews Rodri’s contract for five years

Manchester City have renewed the contract of midfielder Rodrigo Hernandez “Rodri” for five years, and the player has shown ambition to achieve more achievements with the Premier League champions.
Spaniard Rodri has become one of the most prominent elements in Manchester City since he moved to England in 2019 from Atletico Madrid.

Rodri participated in 151 matches with Manchester City and crowned him with the English Premier League title twice, the English League Cup twice and the Charity Shield Cup once.

“Joining City in 2019 was the best decision I made in my career,” Rodrigo said today, Tuesday, in comments published by the British news agency “BA Media”.

“I’ve loved every second (since joining the team). The fans have been amazing to me, I felt completely supported by the club and the coach is pushing me forward every day.”

“We’ve had a lot of success since I came here, which makes me very proud. But honestly, this success made me crave more. Once you start winning big titles, you don’t want to stop.”

“I feel that City gives me the best chance of winning titles, and that makes me happy to stay here for a longer period of time.”

Spain international Rodri’s contract with Manchester City was supposed to expire in 2024.
