Manchester United is coming to Upper Austria again

The sensation for the 31st edition of the Baumit Junior Indoor Cup – organized by state league team Esternberg – is perfect: As with the last anniversary edition, Manchester United, a top international club from the island, will compete in the district sports hall in Schärding.

From December 28th to 30th or from January 4th to 6th, 2024, hundreds of young kickers will be chasing the big ball again. The highlight will be the traditional U15 event on January 6th, 2024, where the European football elite will compete with each other. In addition to defending champions Mainz 05, Borussia Dortmund and VfB Stuttgart, FC Utrecht (Netherlands), Winterthur (Switzerland) and Slavia Prague (Czech Republic) are also at the start.

The field of participants is rounded off with top local clubs such as Sturm Graz, Austria Vienna and SV Ried. “It’s great that Manchester is coming for the second time and we’re very pleased,” says organization boss Hannes Fesel. The British will arrive with a total of ten players and five supervisors. The “Red Devils” will also open the U15 event on January 6th at 3 p.m. against Lask.
