Map of productive niches to develop MSMEs with export potential

Asunción, IP Agency.- The Ministry of Industry and Commerce (MIC) presented the mapping of potential productive niches in Paraguay, a study that identifies those sectors with export potential in the region, focused on goods with high economic complexity.

The diagnosis will allow the Ministry to develop a roadmap to support micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (Mipymes) so that they can find export markets in the region, highlighted the head of the MIC, Luis Castiglioni.

Paraguay became the first country to present the tool developed by the Latin American and Caribbean Economic System (SELA). This body aims to develop the economic recovery of its member countries through MSMEs.

The permanent secretary of the permanent secretary of SELA, Clarems Endara, highlighted during the presentation that the tool will allow companies to “communicate with large factories in foreign markets” and promote policies that allow MSMEs to develop effectively.

The presentation of the study was also attended by the Ambassador of Taiwan, José Han, who highlighted the joint work with the MIC and the possibility of developing new plans to promote the identified productive niches.

In addition to the study, panels were held on the promotion of export sectors, the development of potential sectors and the role of SBDCs (Mipymes Development Centers), with the presence of representatives of the State and business associations.
