Marc Dutroux’s house in Sars-la-Buissière is being demolished

More than 26 years following the macabre discovery, the demolition of the house of Marc Dutroux located in Sars-la-Buissière has begun. It was in the garden of this house that the bodies of Julie and Mélissa, 2 of the murderer’s victims, had been found. The municipality can finally erase the traces of this heavy past.

As indicates Télésambre, the workers on site start by cleaning and emptying the house before starting the demolition this Wednesday or Thursday. It will take regarding ten days of work to empty this municipal site located in the heart of the village. After consultation with the families of the victims, there should be no construction of a memorial, unlike Marcinelle. Earth will cover the ground and lawn will be planted to erase this bad memory that marked Sars-la-Buissière.
