Marc Riera: Seat’s New Board Member for Procurement – Driving Supply Ecosystem and Procurement Process Improvement

Marc Riera will be the new board member for procurement at Seat on July 1st. He succeeds Alfonso Sancha, who is moving to Volkswagen Group China in the same function.

Marc Riera will be responsible for the company’s purchasing strategy, the supply ecosystem and the continuous improvement of the procurement process. He has a degree in Telecommunications Engineering from the Technical University of Catalonia (UPC) and has been with the Volkswagen Group for over 20 years. Among other things, Riera was a strategic buyer for metal and drive parts at Volkswagen in Mexico. At Seat he held various positions in the areas of procurement and logistics and most recently headed the department for new projects and purchasing strategy. As chief procurement officer, he reports directly to CEO Wayne Griffiths. (awm)
