In a fire on a meadow strip in Marchtrenk (Wels-Land district) six cars were destroyed on Saturday around 5.30 p.m. Five parked vehicles burned out completely and another was badly damaged, police said.
The cars had been parked on the mown strip of grass next to the road during a game at the nearby soccer field. When the head of operations arrived, all vehicles were already fully engulfed in flames, according to the Marchtrenk fire brigade. The fire had already spread to the adjacent field and trees. The cause of the fire is still unclear.
