It was a unique ending to the 45th edition of the Men’s Ski Jumping World Cup. After many weeks of competition, the prestigious trophies went to the Austrians, who dominated this season. The Crystal Globe for the best jumper in the general classification went to Stefan Kraft, while the Small Crystal Globe for the best aviator went to Daniel Huber, who also won the last competition this season. Finally, all members of the Austrian national team, including the coaching staff, received their award. This nation was the best when it comes to the Nations Cup.

During the last day of competition on the ski jumping hill in Planica, there were also moments when the fans had difficulty holding back their tears. The last jump in his career that day was made by the titled Slovenian – Peter Prevc. The 31-year-old was said a touching farewell by fans and teammates, and at such an important moment he was accompanied by his loved ones, including his wife Mina and sons.

At the end of the broadcast, Marek Rudziński was said goodbye to his partner from the commentary studio, Igor Błachut. “And now I will allow myself a private moment. I must say this. Mr. Marek, it was a fantastic adventure, great joy and, above all, a great honor that we could work together for so many years. Thank you,” he said. He didn’t have to wait long for an answer. “It was a pleasure working with you. I hope you will find a worthy successor. I would like to thank you for the years we spent jumping together – you watched and I commented. Thank you very much,” Rudziński replied.

After the end of Sunday’s competition, the outstanding sports commentator visited the TVN studio, where he watched a video specially prepared for this occasion with the participation of Polish ski jumpers and members of the Polish Ski Association, and then received a unique gift from Sebastian Szczęsny and Damian Michałowski, namely… Golden Microphone.
