“Floricienta” It is one of those Argentine series that marked an entire generation. Its success was such that it was replicated in various countries, such as Chile, with “Floribella”.

Now, 20 years after the end of ‘Floricienta’, the story returns, this time with the daughter of the protagonist, and hence the name ‘Margarita’.

BioBioChile traveled to Uruguay, to the recording set of the HBO Max series, and spoke with Cris Morena, creator of the series, and the main protagonists of ‘Margarita’.

Cris is also responsible for hits like ‘Rebelde Way’, ‘Casi Ángeles’, ‘Chiquititas’ and ‘Verano del 98’

Cris Morena and Mora Bianchi, ‘Margarita’

Mora Bianchi, a young 19-year-old artist, emerging from the hotbed “Another world” by Cris Morena, is in charge of playing Margarita, the protagonist of this series.

It is known that Cris Morena’s productions are a great springboard for its actors and that their lives change completely. In this sense, Mora said she does not know if she is ready, even though acting runs in her DNA.

Immediately, she was interrupted by Cris, who said “yes, you are ready”.

The story of Cris and Mora began when the young artist applied to their hotbed (talent school), with the intention of entering with a scholarship, so she recorded a video singing. Upon seeing it, Cris immediately fell in love with her, even though she had no more scholarships, so she entered as “Creative Industry”.

“I had bad castings, suddenly she came in, I do like that, she stopped me, she looked at me with Joaquina, my partner (…) she started singing, she danced, she left, “We hugged and Margarita was born.”Cris declared.

As happened with ‘Floricienta’ and ‘Rebelde Way’, the series that inspired RBD, Cris Morena’s productions are replicated in several countries. Asked if she believes the same will happen this time, Cris was emphatic in saying yes..

“It’s going to be an atomic bomb, I feel it here (…) I swear, it has never happened to me to say like that, with so much joy (…) it is going to be something incredible (…) it is not a banal comedy,” he stressed.

Julia Calvo and María del Cerro

In the company of Mora Bianchi and Cris Morena, were the renowned Argentine actresses Julia Calvo and María del Cerro, who stated that working with Cris is already a great reason to be part of the project.

Regarding what it is about ‘Margarita’ that made her be part of the production, Julia, who has been part of productions such as ‘Casi Ángeles’, said that “for me, this thing of telling stories, telling stories, the day I don’t do it I I dedicate myself to something else, and “Cris is determined to do that, and Calderone (Leo) too, he surrounds himself with people who want to do that.”.

Her character, Ada, will be an ally of the young protagonist who will have to experience more than one misadventure.

Added to this, he emphasizes, is that this type of series endures to such an extent that people, adults today and who watched these series 20 or more years ago, continue talking about them and singing their songs.

María del Cerro, like Julia, has also been part of Morena’s productions. Now she will have to be a henchman of the antagonist.

María said that “for me it is a flash, so not this, of working with Cris again, of her return with all that accumulated desire, of so many years, that is the feeling, no, of all that desire for everything that had in his head (…) Obviously that was the kick to say ‘yes, obviously I want to be in this new thing that you do.'”indicated the actress who moved with her husband and daughters to Uruguay to record the series.

About working with Mora Bianchi and a whole new generation of actors, in a production where they act, dance and sing, Julia stated that “I am really living a romance with Mora, it is something that happened to us (…) it happened to us to be very cool.” , have an immediate chemistry, but not only from the characters, but from us”.

“We discovered a very young girl, very talented because she sings and dances like the gods,” he added.

“Morita is pure light, his smile is pure light, And this is what we are talking about, that Cris is not wrong, you see, and that today I cannot imagine another person playing Margarita,” María del Cerro added.

Isabel Macedo and Rafael Ferro, the villains

But as in any production, the villains cannot be missing, and here, there is one that repeats the dish. And Isabel Macedo reprises her role as “Delfina”, the same one she starred in during the series ‘Floricienta’.

Now, 20 years later, he seeks revenge through Florencia’s daughter, that is, Margarita.

“Obviously, We are going to meet a different Delfinabecause as happens to all of us, we evolve and grow, and we improve some parts, and others not so much (…) I don’t know whether to tell you that it is worse, but it is safer,” said Isabel.

Rafael Ferro adds that his character will be Delfina’s faithful ally, a “henchmen, someone who works there in the shadows, to clear the way”. “He is very bad, he has no ethics or doubts,” he adds.

We will listen to the classic again “someone is in trouble” of Delfina.

Both also highlighted the professional quality of the production and the effort that characters like Mora Bianchi have, considering that many of them came from “Otro Mundo.”

The premiere of the series is expected at the end of the year on HBO Max screens.
