the mayor María Emilia Soria (Pasión por Roca) opened the dialogue this morning with different political forces after the overwhelming victory on Sunday in the municipal elections, although from the Workers’ Left Front (FIT) and from the MAS, they assured that they will not attend the round organized by the communal chief.
The first to meet with Soria were the leaders of Popular Unity (UP) Federico Gabarra and Mateo Canosa with whom he spoke mainly about the urban planning of the city. The candidate for mayor for that force, Mario Álvarez, excused himself from attending since he had other commitments previously assumed.
“Several candidates raised the need to densify urbanization in neighborhoods that are already populated and that have basic services. Along this line, we delve into ideas and outline some lines of action that I hope we can continue working with other spaces that have put forward similar proposals”, explained the re-elected mayor.
They also evaluated the water problem in the city and the importance of the work to expand the the Water Treatment Plant that is being carried out by Enhosa. At this point, Soria recalled the delay on the part of the provincial company ARSA in granting the feasibility to be able to carry out various extension works of the water and sewage networks.
From the communication area they clarified that the objective of the community chief is to hold personal meetings with each of the candidates.

A resounding “no”
For his part, the two candidates from the left-wing parties expressed their intention not to attend the meeting. Carlos Alberto Castro (FIT-Unit) He said that they received the invitation although they rejected it for fundamental political reasons.
