Marie Myriam reacts to La Zarra’s middle finger: “What a shame!”

On Saturday night in the Eurovision final, La Zarra, who was competing for France, had an inappropriate gesture, when she realized that her career was only going to end in 16th place. The Quebecer looked at the camera and gave what looked like a middle finger. An attitude that scandalized the public who made it known massively on social networks.
Questioned by our colleagues from “Parisien”, Marie Myriam, the last French candidate to have won Eurovision – it was in 1977 – reacted to this middle finger: “This gesture from La Zarra at the end of the evening because she didn’t win, it’s really shocking. (…) It’s a middle finger! And it was seen by nearly 200,000 million viewers. What a shame! (…) She made this gesture sitting in an armchair with French flags behind her”, protests Marie Myriam.
“France does not deserve this! She justifies herself by saying that this gesture expresses disappointment in Moroccan culture, but it will start a racist controversy that we really don’t need, ”adds the singer.
