Maripier Morin has taken a new step in his return to public life with his arrival at the helm of the morning show We leave it the same on WKND 99.5 in Montreal with Patrick Langlois next August.
This is the first important microphone given to Maripier Morin – apart from that of the podcast Seeds of hope — since the scandal that forced her to withdraw from the public sphere in July 2020.
It was the radio man Benoit Simard who wanted to give him this microphone. “I was so nervous before the audition, I was like, ‘Am I going to be this spontaneous, punched and have so much repartee?”, she recalls.
Moreover, the day of this announcement, she made it a point not to go on the networks. “For me, that puts me at a lot more risk than a line of powder or a shot of booze. My poison is social media. That’s what makes me sick, ”says the one who has been working solo for three years.
The reactions, 90% positive, according to her team, reassured her about her upcoming return.

Sober for three years, Maripier Morin says she is excited to return to the front of the stage through the radio, a medium of proximity with people. She also adds that she is proud of her progress over the past few years.
“When it happened, it was like Hiroshima; it explodes and there is nothing left, she breathes, moved. This path, there is no one who did it for me. I had two options: put my head in the sand and pretend nothing had happened, or go do my homework, my self-examination and make concrete changes in my life. I did it.”
Lucid in the face of the fact that this work is an everyday one, Margot’s mother says that the inner storm has softened over the past few years. “It’s done with a lot, a lot of love,” she adds, her eyes veiled in tears.
Becoming a mother was a crucial step in her journey. She also sees the arrival of her daughter as THE reward following all her efforts. As for the support of her spouse, the actor Jean-Philippe Perras, it remains her greatest gift.
“I not only believe that we can change, but that we must change. Over the years, evolving is just normal,” she says.
Sobriety
In August 2014, Maripier Morin launched UNIK ready-to-drink alcoholic cocktails. “I told my team: it has to be strong and that it hardly. Ten years later, I present mocktails. It’s a bit surreal.”
“I don’t think I could have said to myself, a few years ago: ‘One day, you will be sober, you will be happy and you will feel in your place, fulfilled in this life and this choice that you are going to make. ” she continues.
The 36-year-old host describes herself as a sensitive woman, close to her emotions and now giving herself the right to be vulnerable.
“Before I was driven by the desire to please. Today, I may not like it, except that I now know who I am, which I did not know three years ago, ”concludes the actress, who confirms that she is in discussion with production houses for a possible TV project.
