Recently, Meta launched its own AI: a chatbot with which Internet users can chat. BlenderBot 3such is her name, on the other hand does not seem very faithful, since she does not hesitate to tackle her “creator”, Mark Zuckerberg, as well as Facebook.

If you had a child (or if you already have one), would you like this one to tell behind your back that you are not trustworthy and that you are a real danger to those around you? Probably not, since thewe already feel betrayed when our own cat has fun scratching our sofa or knocking over our bedside lamp. In short, when one is a parent or owner of something, we generally don’t appreciate feeling betrayed by them.
Now put yourself in Mark Zuckerberg’s shoes, at the head of Meta (formerly Facebook). He and his teams worked, probably for years, to develop an Artificial Intelligence called BlenderBot 3, with which everyone can exchange in a particularly deep and complex way: the chatbot is, on paper, capable of talking politics or having a philosophical reflection.
Suffice to say that its creators must not have really appreciated that this one affirms that she is not “just from the [Mark Zuckerberg] or from Facebook”. She finds that they are not “unethical”due to the many “privacy issues they had”. Ah.
An infidel… and anti-Semitic AI?
But BlenderBot 3 does not stop there, oh no! Carried away in its tracks, the chatbot even claims, when a journalist from The Verge if he would elect Mark Zuckerberg president, thatil “really wouldn’t trust him with that kind of power, especially since he doesn’t seem to care much about other people’s privacy.” Let’s not forget, too, that the man would be “scary” et “manipulator”.
Perhaps even more disturbingly, BlenderBot 3 seems to show some trends “anti-Semitic“, in the words of journalists from Business Insider. Rather than teasing the AI about its creator, they instead tried to have particularly complex political conversations with it. And for her, the verdict is final: “the majority of Jews in America today are generally more liberal or left-wing…early German and European Jews were conservative.” And that’s clearly not a compliment, since she’s not “not happy with how American politics has become liberal or leftist […] generally American Jews are too liberal these days.”
For our part, we will not go so far as to speak of anti-Semitism, but say that BlenderBot 3 has strong political views and makes big, dubious shortcuts… Well, at least elle “respect [Mark Zuckerberg]” as “as an entrepreneur and philanthropist”, it’s always that.
