The Public Relations Department of Beirut Municipality stated in a statement that on May 28, 2022 and around nine thirty in the night, while members of the Beirut Guards Regiment were patrolling in the Hamra area, three people who were in the place asked the patrol members to help them search for one of their relatives from The Ghalayini family, who was missing in the area, was a 92-year-old man.
Immediately, his picture was circulated to the rest of the patrols deployed in a number of the capital’s streets, and the search for him began.
After a short period, specifically at midnight, the patrolmen found the old man, and blood traces were covering some of his face and showing signs of extreme exhaustion.
The necessary assistance was provided to him, after which he was handed over to one of his sons at the intersection of the river area, where his family praised the work of the men of the guard regiment and the speed of their response to the distress call, which helped find their father before the dire consequences occurred. After reassuring him, the patrol left the place and completed its mission.
