LAfricaMobile, a cloud communication and mobile marketing platform, is expanding its presence in Africa with a new Key Account Manager for the Cameroonian market, Ritha Balog, the company announced Monday. The appointment signals a renewed ambition for growth in the region, according to a LinkedIn post from the company.
Founded with the mission of connecting African businesses with their customers via mobile technology, LAfricaMobile offers a multi-channel platform encompassing SMS, USSD, voice, airtime, WhatsApp Business, and text-to-speech services. The company secured €4.3 million ($4.6 million) in Series A funding in May 2024, led by Janngo Capital, to consolidate its financial position and accelerate expansion in French-speaking Africa, according to a press release.
The funding will be used to develop activities in Central Africa and further invest in the company’s products, including integrating artificial intelligence to enhance value for customers and partners, stated Malick DIOUF, CEO and Co-founder of LAfricaMobile. Investors in the round included French football players Aurélien Tchouaméni and Jules Koundé, as well as the founders of Expensya, Karim Jouni and Jihed Othmani, and investment funds SouthBridge Investments and Ciwara Capital.
LAfricaMobile positions itself as the first multi-channel, multi-operator, and multi-country cloud digital communication platform in West Africa. The company is currently seeking an Analyst Marketing to contribute to the structuring of marketing and product performance, and a Product Manager to transform client needs into a prioritized roadmap.
The Analyst Marketing role will focus on performance reporting, market analysis, competitive intelligence, and providing strategic insights, although the Product Manager will be responsible for defining product vision, strategy, and roadmap, aligning with business objectives. Both positions require fluency in French and English and are based in Dakar, Senegal. Applications for both roles are being accepted via email, with candidates asked to specify the position they are applying for in the subject line.
