Marseille wasted two points at home against Montpellier and tied with it 1/1 today, Friday, in the opening of the twenty-ninth stage of the French Football League.
Montpellier advanced with a goal scored by Arnaud Noureddine in the 12th minute, then Marseille equalized with a goal scored by Mathieu Guendouzi from a penalty kick, one minute before the end of the first half.
Marseille raised its score to 60 points, in second place, six points behind Paris Saint-Germain, who can strengthen its position in the lead through its scheduled match against Lyon on Sunday evening at the same stage.
Marseille is threatened with losing second place, as it is only three points ahead of third-placed Lens, who meets Rennes tomorrow, Saturday. Montpellier also raised its score to 37 points in eleventh place.
