Invited at the end of the morning on CNews on January 29, the epidemiologist doctor Martin Blachier spoke about the side effects of vaccines against Covid-19 by wanting to be reassuring.
Myocardite, péricardite, hypertension, many French people fear some side effects can be vaccine-related against Covid-19. To disentangle the true from the false on the subject, doctor Brigitte Milhau invited on January 29 in her show Hello doctor Milhau (CNews), Martin Blachier, emblematic figure of this health crisis. For this one, people need to be reassured in view of the vigilance adopted by the scientific body: “There was a big study that was done where we analyzed the 46 million people who have been vaccinatedwith the different vaccines in France. […] When there is something, we see it extremely fast and the reaction is extremely fast.”

The Minister of Solidarity and Health tested positive for Covid on Thursday January 13, 2021 after “the appearance of mild symptoms”. Since he had the three doses of vaccination, “he will respect isolation and continue to work from the private quarters of his ministry, where he resides”, specified the services of Olivier Véran.

Elisabeth Moreno
The Minister Delegate for Equality between Women and Men announced on Monday January 3, 2022 that she had tested positive for Covid-19. Elisabeth Moreno was a contact case. Placed in solitary confinement, she decided to continue to carry out her duties remotely, having no symptoms.

The former Secretary of State and current Minister Delegate for Housing tested positive at the end of March 2020. Emmanuelle Wargon then specified on Twitter that she had “mild symptoms“.
Brunette Poirson
The former Secretary of State to the Minister for Ecological Transition tested positive in March 2020 but without “worrying sign“, had then specified his cabinet.
Barbara Pompili
The Minister for Ecological Transition announced on December 27 that she had tested positive for Covid-19, following the appearance of symptoms. “I remain isolated and continue to perform my duties remotely”, wrote Barbara Pompili on Twitter.
Agnès Pannier-Runacher
The Minister Delegate for Industry announced on Twitter that she had tested positive for Covid-19 on December 19, 2021, when she was in contact. According to her office, Agnès Pannier-Runacher had no symptoms and was doing well. She held her appointments remotely, by telephone and videoconference.

To support his remarks, the epidemiologist took as an example the suspension of the British vaccine AstraZeneca in France, following cases of blood clots forming : “On cardiovascular risks, there was nothing on Pfizer, nothing on Moderna and we found in retrospect a small smile on the AstraZeneca vaccine.” And to convince the doubters: “The idea of saying that there has been under-reporting (Editor’s note: side effects) for vaccines, it’s not true.”
Martin Blachier has repeatedly indicated his aversion to vaccination of young people. The doctor did not mention here side effects that could affect the youngest, but rather a lower risk of contamination for this segment of the population. “The need itkeep the kids quiet!“, he told Gala early January. And to add in this sense:The risk for them is so weak.”
