After fulfilling his long-cherished desire to be released from prison, the first thing he ate was tofu.
“It often appears in Korean movies, but people eat tofu horns as lucky charms. They make their black self white like tofu. It means something.
I wanted to try this, so I asked my wife to prepare it and ate it right in front of the prison after I was released. But what was delicious was my wife’s home cooking that I ate at home. It touched my heart.”
In fact, Tashiro had kept his wife’s existence a secret until now. He had a son and a daughter, and his ex-wife divorced while in prison in 2005 while serving his first sentence.
“I entered the family register with my current wife in 2011 just before I was detained in Fuchu Prison. This guy is the only one who understands me so well even if I look for him.
This time, because of the corona disaster, I went out of my way to visit him in the snow, but he was turned away and I felt sorry for him. His son is very understanding, but he has a difficult relationship with his daughter. I didn’t want to be hated, so I couldn’t talk about getting remarried until now.”
He is fighting drugs with the help of his wife.
