MOVIE THEATER. Mask, vaccination pass, health pass… We take stock of the health rules in force in cinemas and the changes to come.
[Mis à jour le 16 février 2022 à 10h57] The health rules in force at the cinema are constantly evolving according to the evolution of the epidemic in France. Currently, to go see a film in dark rooms, you must present a vaccination pass (complete vaccination schedule, or certificate of recovery from Covid-19, or contraindication to vaccination) for those over 16, a health pass (negative PCR or antigen test or complete vaccination scheme or recovery from Covid-19) for minors aged 12 to 16. The mask is always mandatory, whether during the session or in the cinema.
The sanitary rules in the cinema will soon be modified. Since February 16, 2022, the sale of confectionery and consumption are again permitted. From February 28, 2022, it will no longer be compulsory to wear a mask inside the cinema, whether during the screening of the film or between two screenings. From the age of 6, wearing a mask is always compulsory in cinemas, whether during the session in the room, but also when traveling in the establishment which projects the films. Even if we have a sanitary pass or vaccination, the mask must be kept in cinemas. But this rule will not last forever. As the cinema is subject to the vaccination pass, wearing a mask will no longer be compulsory in cinemas from February 28, 2022.
People over the age of 16 must present a vaccination pass to be able to enter the cinema. You must present one of the following three proofs to go see a film in theaters: a complete vaccination schedule, a certificate of recovery from coronavirus more than 11 days or less than four months or a certificate of medical contraindication to vaccination. Negative coronavirus tests are therefore no longer valid to enter the cinema if you are over 16 years old.
Since July 21, 2021, the sanitary passa new health protocol, was necessary to go to the cinemas. It has been replaced by the vaccination pass for those over 16 years old. However, the vaccination pass does not apply to minors aged 12 to 15: they can therefore present a health pass. As a reminder, the health pass includes a complete vaccination scheme or a negative PCR or antigen test of less than 48 hours, or a medical certificate proving that you have contracted the coronavirus. However, the self-tests do not validate the health pass.
