Four brands of eggs distributed by Leclerc and other convenience stores announced the recall of their products on Monday due to the potential presence of salmonella, according to the government site Rappel conso. The brands concerned are “Eco +”, “Oeufs de nos regions”, “Belle France” and “Ecoprix”.
These eggs are likely to present traces of Salmonellabacteria that cause “gastrointestinal disorders (diarrhea, vomiting) often accompanied by fever and headaches that generally occur 6 to 72 hours after consumption of contaminated products”, recalls the site.
“These symptoms may be more pronounced in young children, pregnant women, immunocompromised individuals and the elderly,” it reads.
“People who have consumed these products and who have these symptoms are invited to consult their doctor by notifying him of this consumption”, we specify on Rappel conso. In the absence of symptoms “within 7 days after consumption of the products” concerned, it is however useless to worry.
It should also be noted that cooking these products at more than 65° can destroy these bacteria and prevent the consequences of such contamination.
