Master detective and Falco on the Grenzland stage

LEOPOLD BLOW. After a shutdown of exactly 1,070 days due to the pandemic, the Grenzlandbühne team is looking forward to this year’s Summer Theater Days in Leopoldschlag. The Grenzlandbühne is showing Agatha Christie’s own production “Die Mausefalle” in its 24th year.

That’s what the play is about: A couple inherits a secluded country house called Monkswell Manor and opens a small boarding house there. During a snowstorm, all sorts of mysterious guests who couldn’t be more different gather there. The radio tells of a gruesome murder in London, and shortly thereafter an inspector appears who has followed the perpetrator’s trail to the snow-covered country house. It doesn’t take long for a body to be found here as well. Everyone present seems to be involved in this mysterious case, but only one person is the wanted murderer.

The longest running play in the world

Agatha Christie’s The Mousetrap has been performed daily in London since 1952, making it the longest running play in the world. The crime thriller can be seen on the Grenzlandbühne on July 16, 22, 23, 28, 29 and 30 at 7.30 p.m., as well as on July 24 at 3 p.m. Director is Daniel Pascal, Andrea Gratzl, Markus Birngruber, Dominik Chalupar, Elisabeth Neulinger, Wolfgang Aistleitner, Bianca Hoffelner, Martin Oberngruber and Philipp Bergsmann are on stage.

Guest performance: Musical Falco – rock me again

In addition, the Grenzlandbühne was able to win a guest performance partner for the fast-paced musical “Falco – Rock me again” by Werner Rohrhofer for this summer with the Theater in the city center (Linz): Falco has had enough of vegetating in heaven for drunk drivers. He finally wants to go to music heaven, but first he has to prove that he is worthy of sharing it with greats like Hendrix, Bowie or Elvis. Accompanied by his mother and under the watchful eye of Wolferl Mozart, he is allowed to return to earth to prove his skills. He shows this in the TV studio, at the Open Air or as a sidekick for Andreas Gabalier. Can his hits like Titanic, Jeannie or Rock me Amadeus help him to become a well-deserved musician’s Olympus?

Performances are scheduled for August 5, 6, 12 and 13 at 7:30 p.m.
