Governor Vladimir Solodov, speaking with a report to the deputies of the Legislative Assembly of the region, spoke about the stages of the implementation of the master plan for the transformation of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky.

“We have to implement the master plan until 2030, and the total investment in this project is 170 billion rubles. The first tasks are already being solved. So, this year we are engaged in design, because the first step is to prepare competent and architecturally verified projects. One billion rubles have already been received from the federal budget for these purposes. The best architectural bureaus are working, focusing on the central part of our city on such objects as Lenin Square, the public center, the Ozernovskaya Spit embankment, the cable car to Mishennaya Sopka, Kultuchnoye Lake, the Kamchatka Museum, which will be located on the site of the cinema of the same name, a pedestrian street Krasintsev and a number of cultural heritage sites – our famous wooden houses, which, unfortunately, are in a deplorable state,” the governor said.

According to him, as part of the master plan, it is also planned to change the Peter and Paul Harbor, which will be accessible to pedestrians and will become the center for the development of public infrastructure and hotels.

“We have to implement all this in stages, and already in the 25th year, the first results will be available to our residents. Although, of course, I want to mention right away that before that, a difficult period of construction is ahead. The 23rd year is preparatory, the year of designing, the 24th is the year of the active phase of construction, when we have to dig up the entire city center. And now, dear deputies, we need to work with our residents so that there is an understanding of these temporary inconveniences, and there is a vision of the final result to which we will come, ”explained Vladimir Solodov.

The master plan is a policy document that defines a number of urban development transformations in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, including changes in the urban environment, the construction of new facilities, including residential buildings, social and engineering infrastructure. The master plan was presented to the public last year, as well as to the President of Russia. Last winter, it was reported that about 150 billion rubles would be needed to implement the reforms.
