Indeed, goalkeeper Matt Murray trained with a few teammates before the morning session of the Queen City club. He left the ice surface before official training began.

Murray has not played a game in 2023-24. Before the start of the campaign, the Leafs had indicated that the 29-year-old athlete would be sidelined for a period of six to eight months due to hip surgery.

This is the last year of the contract that the Ontarian signed with the Ottawa Senators in October 2020. The “Sens” traded him to the Maple Leafs in July 2022.

Last year, in his first season in Toronto, Murray had a 14-8-2 record, a 3.01 goals-against average and a .903 save percentage.

The Masked Man played the first five seasons of his career with the Pittsburgh Penguins and won the Stanley Cup twice with that team.
