Matt Smith Calls Too Many Sex Scenes in House of Dragon

Jakarta

The Game of Thrones series has been in the spotlight and insinuated for showing too many sex and nude scenes in almost every episode. Now their prequel, House of Dragon, seems to be following in the footsteps.

In an interview with Rolling Stone, Matt Smith, who plays Daemon Targaryen, leaked about how the sex scenes in the series were.

“You find yourself asking, ‘Do we need another sex scene?'” says Smith.

“And they’re like, ‘Yeah, we know.’ I guess you have to ask yourself, ‘What are you doing? Are you representing the book, or are you thinning the book to represent the time (we live)?’ And I really think it’s your job to represent the book honestly and honestly, as it was written.”

He was again asked about the sex scenes performed by his character, Daemon.

“Yeah a little too much, if you ask me,” he said with a laugh.

Set two centuries before Game of Thrones, the series depicts the dramatic fall of House Targaryen, the dynasty that had ruled the seven Kingdoms of Westeros for nearly 300 years (and would later produce the Mother of Dragons, Daenerys, in Game of Thrones starring Emilia Clarke).

Matt Smith plays Prince Daemon Targaryen, the younger brother of King Viserys of Considine, and heir to the Iron Throne throne. But Viserys’ eldest child, Princess Rhaenyra (Emma D’Arcy), has ambitions to become the first queen of the seven kingdoms through a split in tradition that threatens to create civil war across the kingdom.

“He’s like an outsider,” Smith said of Daemon.

“He’s not black and white, there’s shades of gray to him, that’s what attracted me to him. And his relationship with his brother is very interesting. It’s been a pleasure working with Paddy Considine, whom I’ve admired for a long time, and Rhys Ifans,” he concluded.
