Max Verstappen’s Struggle with Car Balance: Insights from Hungary Qualifiers

2023-07-22 15:27:00

Max Verstappen qualified second in Hungary, just 0.003 seconds behind Lewis Hamilton. Immediately following the session, the Red Bull Racing driver said that the team had not been able to solve problems with the balance of the car.

Max Verstappen: “Throughout the weekend, I had problems finding the optimal balance – in each session, it appeared and disappeared.

Today’s qualification turned out to be difficult. In the first and second parts, I felt confident in the car and might attack in the corners. The first attempt in the final also turned out to be quite good, but then in the second, problems with balance arose once more. I tried to attack a little harder, but I lost control of the front and back of the car.

In any case, I still took second place, although I should have been ahead if there were no problems with the car, but this weekend we did not manage to set it up correctly.

I think the novelties work, but we were not able to figure out the settings. Today, things didn’t work out the way we wanted.”
