Today, due to inflation which is paralyzing the country, many French people rely on social assistance to make ends meet. RSA, family allowances, activity bonus or others, this aid is essential for the most precarious.

However, and surprisingly, a considerable amount of almost 10 billion euros in aid currently remains unclaimed with CAF and other social aid organizations.
How to explain this situation ? Two reasons, in priority, can justify this sum. First, the French are sometimes unaware that they are entitled to certain social assistance. They do not know that to receive them, they must take certain steps. Then, the complexity of these procedures can discourage some.
But it is nevertheless a sum of money in social assistance which can change everything. Because, we remind you, social assistance are for precarious people. For those who need it most.
Social assistance that the French forget to ask for #
This figure of 10 billion euros does not come out of nowhere. Indeed, it comes to us from a joint study by the Directorate of Research, Studies, Evaluation and Statistics (DREES) and the Observatory of Non-Recourse to Rights and Services.

Thanks to this study, we know the amount, but also the social assistance which does not find takers. So, let’s discover the results together.
First of all, 30% of individuals do not claim unemployment insurance from the Pôle Emploi. Then, 34% do not use Active Solidarity Income (RSA) from the CAF. Finally, and this is an impressive percentage, 50% do not claim the minimum old age from their pension fund.
In total, nearly 10 billion euros of social assistance is lost, including more than three billion for the RSA. According to this survey, it is mainly people with modest incomes who do not request this aid.
In order to remedy this situation, Pôle emploi and other social organizations such as CAF and MSA, under the supervision of the Ministry of Solidarity and Health, have created a simulator at the following address: Mesdroitssociaux.gouv.fr.
