Books – Marwan Al-Tayeb:
Actress Mayar El-Beblawi was a guest on the “She and They” program, which is shown on “Al-Hadath Al-Youm” channel.
Mayar spoke about many topics, including her artistic beginnings and her work in the field of advertising, and about her controversial statements during the recent period, in addition to the reason behind her entry into the world of art and acting and who discovered her, and about her relationship with the stars of the artistic community.
As soon as she saw a picture of the artist Elham Shaheen and the artist Laila Elwi on the program and asked her, “Do you agree to work while I finish one?”, “Mayar” replied, saying: “Not one. I have not been able to work with any of them all my life. There is not one of them that I have had the honor of working with with them, and I don’t think that after I have grown and matured, it will work.” I work with them.”
Regarding her artistic beginning, she said: “I started when I was 16 years old. I was in second secondary school and started with simple needs, and as soon as I entered college, I started working in advertisements. After the advertisements, Hajj Fahmy Abdel Hamid discovered me and said, ‘You are a demon,’ and I thought of her as an insult. Then he said, ‘You will remain a very rigid person, but you are needy.’” Concentrate and I didn’t understand a single thing, and suddenly I found myself under the spotlight, in studios, seeing people you used to see in magazines and on the television because my father used to close at 9 o’clock, and even on the day off, the television wasn’t on.”
She continued: “And my father did not know that I was acting because the television was not on, and I preferred to make advertisements, and my father did not know, and for a year he did not know, and most of the things I worked on were in the Gulf, so they were not seen very much at the time. He stopped me the first time he was sitting, and my little sister was sitting with us, and one time I found her saying, ‘Abla Mayar, is she?’” And my father looked around to meet me, and I found the belt waiting for me.”
