Mayor declares a state of emergency to confront “cholera”!

The mayor of Majdal Anjar, Said Yassin, raised the preparedness of the municipality, health staff in the town and those responsible for the “Shawish” camp, during an emergency meeting held at the Municipal Palace in Majdal Anjar, attended by Yassin’s civil defense teams in the town, municipal police, representatives of health and relief bodies and officials of displaced persons camps.

During the meeting, Yassin called for “strictness in the issue of public and personal hygiene and sterilization, and to be alert to this imminent danger, in order for the town and its camps to avoid this new epidemic.”

The meeting concluded that preventive and precautionary measures were taken, including: “preventing any person or guest from any other camp inside and outside the town and the plains of Majdal Anjar, and promptly reporting any suspected case.”

Yassin also stressed “the necessity of controlling the camps for security and reporting any suspicious cases in this field.”

He revealed that “the Ministry of Public Health and the concerned authorities will conduct a shift in the camps next week.”
